The Northwest Lightning are your local girls AFL Australian Rules football team in Sydney’s North and Northwest. We are an alliance between the Pennant Hills Junior Demons and the Westbrook Bulldogs junior AFL clubs.

Australian Rules is the fast-paced football that fosters fitness, fun and friendship. Be part of the popular team sport for girls and play AFL with the Northwest Lightning!
- Girls-only teams for ages 7-17
- Fun, friendly, family environment with a focus on skills, participation and development
- Games played on Sundays with midweek team training
- Graduated contact rules with full training provided

All-Lightning road trip for final pre-season hitout
We’re headed north for a final all-Lightning all-girls football hitout before the season gets underway.
The Killarney Vale Bombers will host all the Lightning teams from youngest to oldest for preseason practice matches at Adelaide Street Oval next Sunday 30 March.
This is a great opportunity for all our teams to hone their match skills with opponents we don’t usually encounter in the AFL Sydney Juniors competition.
Players and families should look out for times and details from their coaches via TeamApp.
Game times are:
YG9 & YG11 – 10.00am
YG13 – 11.20am
YG15 -12.40pm
YG17 – 2.30pm
